Hard-sided waterbeds are the original type of waterbed and give style and substance to a bedroom and can blend in well with the existing decor. They can range from a simple yet functional 'box' construction, through many more stylish & ornate models with solid leather surrounds. Or you can put a  soft-sided waterbed into a leather or wooden frame getting the best of both worlds However in the last year Akva have been pushing bed design forward and now offer all the comfort of a hard side mattress inside what looks and feels like a softside foam framed waterbed, you have to see and try these hybrid waterbeds to believe them!
